I was driving home today from work and heard a doctor talking about what he called a ‘Lap Band’. You guys heard of this? It is an alternative to gastric bypass surgery and the like. Supposedly this one is much less dangerous and still as effective. Here’s a quick breakdown on how it works:
How It Works By creating a smaller gastric pouch, the LAP-BAND System limits the amount of food that the stomach will hold at any time. The inflatable ring controls the flow of food from this smaller pouch to the rest of the digestive tract. The patient will feel comfortably full with a small amount of food. And because of the slow emptying, the patient will continue to feel full for several hours reducing the urge to eat between meals.
Part of me wonders if having one of those surgeries would truly be the only way I could lose weight and keep it off. Course, the lap band procedure costs something in the range of 10G’s and with that kinda coin I could put all that same money into trainers, nutritionists, physical therapists and probably get the same end result. Don’t think I’m quite ready for either of those just yet…mainly b/c of the price factor…I’M BROKE OK!?! 
As far as this Fat Boy goes, it’s getting to the point in my ongoing battle with the poundage that I start getting ‘my head on straight again’. Working out, eating right, etc…until another 2-3 months goes by when not much change occurs (that I can see anyways) and get frustrated and come back to this point. Sounds fun eh? I’m sure you all go through it too. But your peaks and valleys are alot shorter than mine. I’m in dire (sp?) need of a plan…the whole thing (food, workout, etc.) I think I might look around for a nutritionist b/c the reoccuring appt’s with them, for whatever reason, make me want to improve. Trying to impress someone I hardly know, makes sense eh? Course, I guess we all kinda do that in other ways don’t we? Hmmm…
