With RSS becoming more prevalent with every passing day I’ve noticed a bit of a pain point for me that I wish there were a resolution for. I have friends all over the US that like to consume their news, interests, ranting all in their own interesting ways but, they are often different from mine. Example: I have plenty of friends that love using delicious for their social bookmarking but I don’t, I’m a magnolia guy. So why do I have to have a delicious account to be able to share bookmarks back and forth between my delicious friends? I rather just share it via magnolia and have it show up in their delicious inbox. There are tons of little examples like this that I wish were out there. I want to be able to surf the social web the way I’d like and not intrude or require my friends to use the same tools as me during their own surfing experience.
Current Workaround: The only work around I have right now is RSS but it’s for read-only purposes so I can at least see what they are viewing but for the sharing aspect, it requires just another login to a service that I rarely use.

UPDATE: I came across this on the delicious hotlist feed not an hour after this post. Might help on the social bookmarking aspect, haven’t played with it yet but my argument still holds. Initial thoughts on Social Marker, however, seem to be more of a spam bookmarker than for sharing.
