FedEx Office rocked my world

September 12, 2008

Fedex Office buildingI’ve felt lately that if I’m going to bitch/complain/rant about a company that I should also congratulate/cheer/high-five some companies, too.

Fedex Office (used to be known as Kinko’s) completely blew me away the other day. I needed a couple hundred one page brochures printed pretty quickly due to me running for the airport later that day and didn’t have time to go back and forth to the office to make copies. So I called my local Fedex Office location and the lady there said to send her the PDF via email and she’d take care of it. I thought, “Ok, cool. I’ll pick it up on my way out.” After about ten minutes from the time I sent the email I got a call back from the Fedex lady and she said she could drive over the proofs to my house and make sure I’m getting what I needed and for no charge.

Twenty minutes later…

She showed up (despite it raining) with three different choices, she recommended one to me and we went with it. She took down my credit card info and said she would go back to the store, print this out for me, and deliver them back out in about an hour. “Really? There’s gotta be a charge for that, right? Nope.”

The entire thing took maybe two hours total and what a UNBELIEVABLE experience I had and a great feeling I was left with. So kudos to Fedex Office for completing killing it and I hope this type of service ripples through all your stores. Bravo!

  1. Bad marketing & branding move. FedEx has screwed up the Kinkos brand ever since they bought the chain, and changing the name to FedEx Office will only confuse people looking to make some copies and don’t want to ship anything.
